Extreme Tights

5 out of 5 based on 4 customer ratings

With a durable, wind and abrasion-resident outer layer and a warm, soft, wicking inner layer, these tights are kind of like your favorite grandparent: a little tough on the outside, but extra loving on the inside. Discrete ankle zippers make it easy to pull ‘em off without even unlacing your boots, but they’re comfortable enough that you may forget to change (we’ve been known to sleep in them). Basically, a cold butt is not the reason you’ll call it a day … though a fire with a snow-chilled beer may be.

Extreme tights are not only sublimely comfortable, they’ve got your back when you’re caught between a rock and a (cold) hard place. Abrasion-resistant fleece, and designed with features like ankle zippers so you can pull off tights without even unlacing your boots. No joke, a cold butt or thighs will not be the reason you head indoors if you’re wearing these. Then ironically you may not want to take them off afterward.

Care of your C2

Although it’s totally fine to wash and dry your c2 with your other active wear, we have found a few care details to be helpful in keeping it looking good for as long as possible:

1. Avoid washing c2 with cotton or other lint shedding materials
2. It’s best to wash synthetics with other synthetics
3. c2 air dries quickly, so save a dime and the environment and let it dry without the dryer
4. Turn your c2 inside out before washing or drying to protect the outside from zippers and velcro

Think of your regular running tights and how they are adequate when the weather is down just below freezing as long as you don’t mind being a little chilly. Now imagine they were made from 100-weight fleece instead of the thin usual spandex and you’ll have an idea why these tights are so extreme. Extremely warm, extremely soft, extremely comfortable. It’s still a few weeks until the snow starts flying here in CO, but I’m already hooked on these tights. Bring on the sub-zero night runs! Bring on the XC skiing at 5 above! Bring on the… well, I guess we’ll find out!

The fit and feel are great. The smooth lower leg panels are lined on the inside and should attract as much snow. The ankle zippers seem fine, but the fabric is stretchy enough I can get them on and off (albeit not over bulky boots) without even unzipping. One slight modification might be to add a drawstring in case the fit isn’t perfect. However, I wear 34×34 pants and the L size fits well even without.

Great for XC ski training and racing. They really move moisture, so you never feel sweaty. Amazing to see the frost forming on the outside of the tights (around 10 degrees F and below.)

As a cyclist who is perpetually cold and for years avoided riding in temps under 40ºF, I cannot say enough to endorse these Extreme tights. I have worn them on road and mtn bike rides in temps as low as 4ºF and I WAS NOT COLD. Let me repeat that. I WAS WARM riding in subzero temperatures. If temps are in the mid 20s to mid 30s, these are fine layered over shorts. Add leg warmers and you are good to go down to at least 0ºF. These tights have completely changed my approach to outside winter riding. In previous years, I seldom ventured outside to ride when temps are under 30 and if I was out on a ride, I had to limit it to less than an hour because I would find that I never warmed up. Now that I have these tights, I can handle rides up to 3hrs in extreme cold. These are a veritable game changer for me, and they outperform many big name brands that claim to make “thermal tights.” As far as I am concerned, these are the ONLY tights for cold weather riding.

This is by far the best tight that I have ever had! I have used it mountain biking and hiking and it keeps me warm and is very comfortable. I am looking forward to using it cross country skiing this winter. My only disappointment was that I didn’t have it last winter as our winter here in Boston was pretty epic and I am sure these tights would have be amazing.
